5 Easy Overlanding Meals


When you're on an overlanding trip, cooking your meals outdoors can be an adventure in itself. Whether you're camping in the mountains or exploring the desert, there are plenty of delicious and easy-to-make meals that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Here are five of the best overlanding meals to add to your camping menu.



1. Breakfast Burritos

Breakfast burritos are a great way to start your day on an overlanding trip. They are filling, easy to make, and can be customized to suit everyone's tastes. To make breakfast burritos, you'll need flour tortillas, eggs, cheese, and any other fillings you like, such as bacon, sausage, or vegetables. Start by cooking your fillings in a skillet over the campfire, then scramble the eggs and add them to the skillet. 2. Campfire Chili

Campfire chili is a hearty and comforting meal that is perfect for cool evenings. To make campfire chili, you'll need ground beef, canned tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, and any other spices or vegetables you like. Brown the ground beef in a large pot over the campfire, then add the canned tomatoes and kidney beans. 3. Foil Packet Meals

Foil packet meals are a versatile and easy way to cook meals over the campfire. Simply wrap your ingredients in foil and cook them over the fire. Some popular foil packet meals include chicken and vegetables, fish and potatoes, or even pizza. To make a foil packet meal, start by laying out a piece of foil and adding your ingredients. Fold the foil over to create a sealed packet, then place it on the hot coals or over the flames. Cook for 10-20 minutes, depending on the ingredients, then open the packet and enjoy. 4. One-Pot Pasta

One-pot pasta is a simple and delicious meal that can be made with just a few ingredients. To make one-pot pasta, you'll need pasta, canned tomatoes, garlic, and any other seasonings or vegetables you like. Start by sautéing the garlic and any vegetables in a large pot over the campfire. Add the canned tomatoes and seasonings, then add the pasta and enough water to cover it. Let the pasta cook in the pot until it's al dente, then serve. 5. Grilled Sandwiches

Grilled sandwiches are a classic camping meal that can be customized to suit any taste. To make grilled sandwiches, you'll need bread, cheese, and any other fillings you like, such as ham, turkey, or vegetables. Start by assembling your sandwich, then butter the outside of the bread. Grill the sandwich over the campfire, flipping it over once, until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted. Cut into quarters and serve with chips or a side salad.
